MOONSHINE and MEGAMIND:

Two Dreamworks Art books were released this month, and I happen to have artwork in both of them.

MOONSHINE is a compilation of personal artwork from the Dreamworks Visual development artists. Pretty Awesome. I have a fun little spread in there. The ART of MEGAMIND was released as well. A slew of my early development work appears in the book. Below are some examples.

Now on page 57 of the Art of Magamind book, there is a series of color Roxanne expressions that are all credited to me. But in fact I am only responsible for the girl in the gray tank top with the sunglasses on her head. Shannon Tindle did all the others. Mis-credits happen in every art of book, so Its good we have blogs.

Hi Shane! Awesome work... I was just wondering what brush your using on the dark areas of your characters. Looks like a natural medium so I'm guessing Corel Painter.

Shane,
How are you? I am so excited to see how well you are doing. I was wondering if I could chat with you about Angus....and Coraline? I was hoping I could get something in memory of him. You know...he is finally really getting to use those wings... I miss him....

I made it to your lecture at the concept design academy this week--truly awesome. thanks for all the info, I've already requested the Hirschfeld book from the library and am re-assessing my my approach to photoshop. You should rent the documentary Ballets Russes. Something tells me you'd appreciate the personalities involved.
